Apostille of birth certificate for use in China

Apostille of birth certificate is often needed when you apply for work authorization in China and would like to bring your children with you. This document outlines the detailed process involved.

I. Apostille of birth certificate through YWPW

1. Please fill out the online order form of our agency:

2. Print the confirmation page. You order ID, our mailing address, payment information (including credit card payment) and other instructions are shown on the confirmation page.
3. Mail us the "original birth certificate" and the order confirmation page.
4. Tell us the time and method you mailed your documents, including tracking number, so that we can track the movement of your mail.
5. We will check your birth certificate, apply for apostille, and mail it back to you.

II. Processing time and fees

• Normally 2-4 weeks. The government fee is $5-30, and our service fee $99.96.
• Service fee discount available (20-50%) if there are 2 or more documents.

III. How to order a birth certificate

Birth certificate can be ordered from your state Health and Vital Records department.

• Due to privacy, this step must be done by yourself.
• Birth certificate may be obtained at county level or state level. In most states, you should get directly from state vital records department.
  • California: best to get from state.
  • Texas: get from county.
  • Georgia: county issued may or may not be acceptable, so get one from state.
• If you already have a birth certificate but it is not "recently issued", you may need to order a new one. This "recent" differs from state to state, but in most states it is about 5 years.
  • Virginia: issued within one year.
  • Alabama, Kentucky: issued by current state registrar.
  • Florida and Maryland: issued by current state registrar, but there is a 1-2 years grace period.
