Chinese visa and apostille fees

The cost for Chinese visa application or document apostille through YWPW Chinese Visa Service consists of:

  • Processing fees charged by the Chinese Consulate or Chinese Embassy in Washington DC
  • Cost of shipping passports/documents back to you (one shipping fee per order)
  • Our service fee

There is no hidden cost. We accept payments in QuickPay (Zelle), check, or credit card. You may pay all fees in a single payment, please see bottom of this page for details. You may select the type of services and the method of shipping the documents back.

I. Chinese visa fees (including Hong Kong visa/permit)

Please note: currently the application is submitted by appointment, Express or Eush may not be actually faster than regular.

Per Sino-US agreement on Nov. 10, 2014, 10-year visa will be issued to US passport holder regardless of passport expiration date. From March 9, 2015, Canadian citizens can also apply for 10-year visa.

The consular fee is $140 for US passport holders and $80 for Canadian passport holders regardless of the number of entries, and our service fee is $199.96. For citizens of countries, it is dependent on the number of entries. Extra fees apply for expedited processing. Please use the calculator below to find out.

  1. Shipping fee is not included in the calculation. You pay one shipping fee per order even if you have multiple passports.
  2. For some countries, the consular fee is different, and the consulate may change fees from time to time. You will pay the actual charge if it is different.

II. Apostille (Document authentication)

  1. Please see the table below for fees and processing time.
  2. In general, there is no expedited service for apostille, and the selection on order form will not have an effect on the fee or processing time. In some rare cases where an expedited processing is available, the fee will be assessed separately.
  3. Volume discount available if more than one document (20-50% off). See calculations below.

Shipping cost

Please see shipping options and costs for detailed description of each shipping method and their exceptions. Shipping fee is charged per order, not per passport.

Service fees

  • for visa application, single to 10-year multiple are the same for US passport holders (see tables above). Rates for Non-US passport holders are dependent on the number of entries.
  • Pickup only: $65 per document/item.
  • Photo service: $12 for first applicant, $2 each for each additional. This service is subject to availability. Please be sure to send your photo with application.
  • International mail handling fee: $10.
  • Document copy fee: $1/page (subject to a minimal charge of $10/document)
  • Document scan fee: $2/page (subject to a minimal charge of $10/document), for documents with 10 pages or less -- we cannot scan documents with more than 10 pages, due to the potential of damaging the documents -- scan yourself before stapling them together.

To minimize your cost, we advise that you plan ahead and allow a minimal of 2-weeks time, so that you don't have to use the expensive express or rush services, or in case something goes wrong.

Supplemental document fee

We currently do not charge a fee for submitting supplemental documents. However, we ask you check against our web site and/or check list to avoid missing documents, which causes trouble to both you and us.

After you place an order online, you will be supplied a "check list". Please check against it before mailing. If your application package arrives at our office missing some documents or with errors, we will contact you and help you correct them.

We do our part by providing you with most updated and correct information, and you do your part by providing us with needed documents. Together we keep the extra load/cost associated with supplemental documents to an acceptable level so that we never have to charge a supplemental document fee.

To save your time and money, most supplemental documents may be submitted electronically. You scan or take a digital picture of your documents, email the image file to us, and we print them out for you. Please note that common problem for taking pictures of documents is that the image is too dark and the consulate would not accept. Faxed copies of passport, green card have low resolutions and are thus not acceptable.

Method of payment

We accept QuickPay (Zelle), check and credit card payments. For express or rush service, please use QuickPay/Zelle or credit card. You may pay all fees as shown on the online order confrimation page in a single payment (check should be made payable to "YWPW Services").

Please note, payments must be received before we submit your application to the consulate or Secretary of State, unless special arrangements are made. If the payment is in check, documents may be mailed back to you after the check is cleared (5 business days). There is a $30 charge for a check that is returned. For credit card payment (paypal), there is a 3.75% non refundable transaction fee. (why?)

Mailing address

The mailing address will be printed on the online order confirmation page. The same information is also available in your confirmation email. Our computer system will automatically give you the address based on service you requested, your location, and our staff availability.
