Visa application fee

The application fee charged by the Chinese consulate for non-US passport is generally lower than that for US passports.

• double entry $45
• 6-month multiple $60
• 1-year multiple $90
• 2-year multiple $90 (available only to former Chinese citizens)

Visa fees for Romanians is $90-150 and is not in our computer system.

Because the consulate fees for non-US passports are not posted in public, and they may change from time to time, the actually cost may be different from what we have in our computer system. You will pay the actual cost that the consulate charges us and we will either refund the difference to you or ask you to pay the difference.

Special document requirements

If you use your non US passport to apply for visa, you must show evidence that you entered US legelly. Please provide one or more of the following:

1. If you have a green card: original AND copy of green card;
2. If you do not have a green card:
   • original AND a copy of your I-94;
   • a visa on your passport that you used to enter US. If it is not on your current passport, please provide a copy;
   • other immgration documents (e.g. I-20, H1B) to show your legal status in US.
3. For Chinese visa application form, please submit both the main form (V2011A) and the supplemental form (V2011B).

Updates

2010/12/20: All non-US passport holders: please provide orignal AND copy of green card/I-94.

2010/05/18: French passport holders: please provide a copy of your flight itinerary. For business visa, please also provide an invitation letter from Chinese side AND a letter from your company/organization in US.

Dual citizenship

If you have dual citizenship, and you want to use your non US passport, you must also have evidence on your non US passport showing that you entered US legally. Your US passport cannot be used as evidence to support your visa application. The reason is that US does not officially recognize dual citizenship. We understand that this requirement will prevent most people from using their non US passports to apply for a Chinese visa.
