Two-year family visit visa (L) is currently being issued on a trial basis and is available only to people who were born in mainland China, Hong Kong, Macau and Taiwan, their spouse and young children. It is not available to everyone. Even if you were born in China, if you were given US citizenship at birth, you do not qualify.
Supplemental documents may be required for 2-year family visit visa.

Applicant born in China and held Chinese passport before: generally no special documents needed in addition to documents listed on Chinese version of our web site, which you must read and follow.
Qualify as spouse: provide a copy of your marriage certificate (or marriage license).
Qualify as children: provide copies of applicant's birth certificate, copies of passports (and green card, if applicable) of parents.

Two-year business visa: you may apply, but the success rate is relatively low. We are checking this frequently and also provided some tips improve your chance of success.
5-year multiple entry visa is available since 2013, but it is for a very small group of people with special skills whom China tries to lure. If no official from China told you that you qualify, then it is unlikely that you qualify.
